2010 Scholarship Recipients
We are pleased to announce the 2010 recipients of Lady Mary Burns Kennedy Scholarship Fund awards!
Catherine Monroe, of Concord, NH, is 14 years old, and has been dancing for over 9 years. For the past 4 years, she has been named the New Hampshire Premier Highland Dancer of the Day at the New Hampshire Highland Games in Lincoln, NH. Last year, she competed at the Indoor Scottish Festival in Concord, NH as well as at Eastern Regionals, Glasgowlands, Cape Cod, Maine, Quechee, and the New Hampshire Highland Games.
Bridget Anne Smith, of Bedford, NH, is 16 and has been studying Highland Dance for over 6 years. Last year, she competed at the NHSSA Annual Indoor Scottish Festival; the Scotia Highland Dance Championships at East Greenbush, NH; the Rhode Island Scottish Highland Festival in Richmond, RI; Glasgowlands in Northampton, MA; the Glengarry Games at Maxville, Ontario; the Cape Cod Scottish Festival; the Maine Highland Games; the Queechee Scottish Festival, VT; the Capital District Open Championships in Altamont, NY; the Northeast Championship at the New Hampshire Highland Games; and the Scotland Festival Highland Dance Competition at Scotland, CT.
Carolann Joyce Stout, of Atlanta, GA, is 12 years old and has been dancing since she was 4. She is planning to compete at the Central Florida Highland Competition, Loch Norman Championship, Savannah Championship, Gatlinburg Highland Competition, Greenville Highland Competition, Glasgow Highland Competition, Grandfather Mountain Championship, Dandridge Highland Competition, Charleston Highland Competition, and Stone Mountain Highland Competition.
