Lady Mary Burns Kennedy Scholarship Fund
The Kennedy Society awards annual scholarships to students of Celtic arts such as dance, pipes, drums, harp, fiddle, and language arts.
The 2013 recipient of the Lady Mary Burns Kennedy Scholarship Award is Kathryne Spangler. Kathryne, who lives in Ohio, was awarded the scholarship for her highland dancing.
To receive a Kennedy Society scholarship, the student must meet these criteria:
- Be sponsored by a Kennedy Society member
Note: The student himself or herself does not have to belong to the KSNA. However, the student must be sponsored by a KSNA member. Otherwise, the application will be considered invalid.
- Plan to attend a certified workshop, class, or camp of instruction
- Provide documentation of certification of the workshop, class, camp, or instructor
A scholarship award covers the cost of workshop, class, or camp registration.
To apply, print and fill out the scholarship application. The application is in Portable Document Format (PDF), which requires a viewer such as the well-known Adobe Reader or the smaller and faster Foxit Reader to view. Both of these viewers are FREE.
Send the application to:
6415 Barberry Hill Drive
Gainesville, GA 30506
A resumé and letter of recommendation from the student’s teacher are required.
